Resurrection Sunday

Happy Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday)! We started out this wonderful Holiday with a neighborhood egg hunt Saturday morning. The kids LOVE searching for eggs. And Rio finally realized that these eggs actually had something in them....candy! Sunday was a beautiful day, amazing Church service, it was hot and sunny, we relaxed, played out side, kids had another egg hunt, enjoyed time with friends and had a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of Jesus!

Jaeda and the Ninja

"Daddy Daddy wake up I want to show you something I want to get Mommy!" Jaeda says with excitement. "Jaeda. It's early not now," Steve replys half asleep. "But Daddy! I really want to get her a Ninja!", says Jaeda. "What are you talking about?" Steve says as he wakes up a little more. "Daddy, its a blender, and it chops and it makes ice cream, and it's washable, it's great!" Jaeda replys with even more excitement. "Ok Jaeda we'll talk about it later, just go back out and turn on cartoons, I'll be out in a minute" Steve says.
Mornings that Jaeda gets up VERY early, she is supposed to come in and tell us that she is up and then go and turn on cartoons and wait until one of us is ready. Well, this particular morning she got stopped on the Ninja infomercial and got hooked! In the past I have caught her on other adult TV channels, some wood working show, where she was learning how to make a chair. And she LOVES watching Food TV. She loves learning how to cook and bake. Oh, and one Saturday morning she got hooked on the PBS sewing show. Now, I love to sew but I can't even watch that show. She loved learning how to piece together a quilt.
So, this morning Steve and I were talking and he was filling me in about Jaeda and the Ninja. Obviously her listening ears were on and she came running into the dinning room, sat down and joined the conversation. She then went on to tell Steve and I that she watched another infomercial after about a steam mop. "That is way better then yours mommy, it has more steamers, comes with a triangle piece for hard to reach corners and cleaning around toilets, a large rectangle pad for cleaning up big messes and a small rectangle pad to clean up the small messes and the pads are washable. You have to call today because they do not have a lot! And it has an iron steamer too to get things other then the floor. And it sanitizes! And it is only 3 easy payments! Mommy can we get one?" Jaeda explains with so much detail and excitement. She almost sold Steve and I on another Steam mop!

We are an outdoor family, cold or hot, we all love being outside. Thankfully it is warm here more then cool. Kalea, our little no fear child, could sit up on the bar swing for ever. Finally, Jaeda gained up enough confidence to go up high as well.

A weekend in Charleston

We are so blessed to have such great friends who let us come and hang out with them in Charleston. Thank you the Evan's family for everything! Here is a little glimpse of our fun filled weekend......Oh and you will see we found a new family favorite, Menchies frozen Yogurt. Kalea was grinning ear to ear seeing that they had Mochie, her absolute favorite. Not sure if anyone else likes it, but she giggles with delight when she sees it!

Kalea's special night

A couple weeks ago Jaeda's school did a father daughter dance. Well, it was Kalea's turn now! Her school did a special father daughter night as well. Snacks, comedian, and showing daddy all around her classroom. Kalea couldn't have been more excited, she was grinning ear to ear. She got all dressed up for their date. Steve and Kalea had such a special time together, starting out at her favorite, Chick-fil'a.

FUN RUN

Today Jaeda's school did their annual boosterthon Fun Run. For the past week and a half Jaeda has been getting pledges for her run. She LOVED helping out her school. Thank you to those who pledged in her name.
The Fun Run is a big deal at the school. It has been chilly and rainy the last couple of days so the run was held in the HS Gym. It was loud and crazy and lots of fun. Parent's, friends and siblings were there to cheer the kids on. It was awesome to watch Jaeda run her little heart out. Her goal was to run 25 laps and she ran 31. That was even stopping for two shoe ties and one stop for a photo. We are very proud for Jaeda! She did an awesome job!

Kari's Birthday

Birthday's become more and more fun each year for our family. This most definitely was one of the most special birthday's yet. The girls loved the fact that it was my special day and reminded me constantly. Actually, they told many others leading up to Thursday as well as informed anyone else who would listen the day after. It was so cute. Jaeda made my a beautiful home made necklace and bracelet out of all of her favorite little treasures. It was very creative and so completely thoughtful. She LOVED the fact that I wore it all day on my Birthday :) Kalea helped make me feel special by singing loudly at lunch. I am for sure that everyone around our table at Panera Bread heard. It was so cute! And Rio, he helped out in a huge way too. He HAD to take out the garbage all by himself. He managed to walk backwards pulling the full trash bag through the home, out the door, down the step and to the big garbage can. I couldn't believe he could do it, or that he actually wanted to. What a great helper he is. And what a great way to help me feel special and loved. Of course, Steve made me feel extra special and loved too :) I could go on and on about all of the little and big things he did and does do to make me feel appreciated and loved. A wonderful birthday indeed. Oh, and it ended with ice cream cake. There's nothing better than that!
